Ashley Dumais, LCSW-C, PMH-C

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. The journey of pregnancy and parenthood can bring dramatic changes to your life – and unique challenges to your emotional health. My name is Ashley and my goal is to create a safe space for you to process these changes and find the inner hope and strength to address the challenges.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in the perinatal mental health field, including working inpatient on a Labor & Delivery unit. I have worked with individuals experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, grief/loss, substance use disorders, and intimate partner violence. I am certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International and I am an active member of the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers. My approach to practice is holistic, culturally humble, trauma-informed, person-centered, and eclectic, meaning I utilize various modalities, incorporating elements of psychodynamic theories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.

This time in your life can feel isolating, but you are not alone. Individuals and families can seek specialized healthcare for preconception, prenatal, and postpartum and they deserve the same kind of specialized mental healthcare. Even prior to entering the healthcare field, I have been passionate about holding space for birthing persons and empowering them to invest in their own wellness throughout their reproductive journeys. After studying in Boston, I returned home to Maryland, where I enjoy spending time with family and friends, moving my body in meaningful ways, especially through bike rides and nature walks, and exploring the world through traveling and reading when I can.

If you are looking for additional support during this time, I would love to hear from you.
